Creating a Tree Embellishment with Trudi

Hello everyone!  Wow, it's nearly the end of May... just one day left in the month!  June is just around the corner, and you know what that means?

Sneak Peeks of the amazing June kits are coming soon!

The incredible June reveal is coming soon after that!

and... our HUGE June contest is coming!

YEA!!!

June 5th is certainly a day on which you'll want to consider checking in here.
There is going to be SO MUCH EYE CANDY for you to drool over...
but you'll have to come back to see.

Today we have another fantastic technique to share with you.  Here's guest designer Trudi Harrison to tell you all about it...

To create the tree embellishment as seen on my layout 'Happy Home':

Use the template created to trace and cut around from a piece of patterned paper.  Draw a tree trunk on a piece of paper.  I wanted a fairly large tree and it measures approximately 11" in height.  Once you are happy with the design and size, cut out.

To add a little definition, you may like to ink around the edges.

Punch out some leaves from patterned papers - I used a Martha Stewart punch.  This is also great way for using up some scraps.

Now attach leaves to branches to recreate a tree canopy.

Thanks for stopping by today!  We love having you visit and we appreciate your wonderful comments.  Have a great day!
