How to Make a Ribbon Flower by Joan Bronson

My Creative Scrapbook design team member Joan Bronson is up today with a ribbon flower tutorial featuring our March Creative Kit!

This months Creative kit was so much fun to work with. Even though the kit is packed full of birthday themed papers and embellishments you can still make layouts for a variety of other themes. My Celebrate layout actually highlights my son's last day of summer day care.
I decided to jazz up the flowers included in the kit to make the layout. I found an easy solution with the yellow ribbon I received with the kit. I started by punching a small circle (about 1 1/2 inches). I then cut the ribbon into seven 2 1/4 inch pieces.
Using my liquid glue I placed each piece of ribbon around the punched circle and folded the end of each piece up.
Once every piece was folded up my flower base was created. The only thing left to do was add my Prima flower from the kit. I removed the tiny pearl from the center of the flower and added a brad.
This is so easy! You could make many variations of this flower by adding more ribbons of different sizes and colors too. I hope you'll give this a try.
