Welcome back, My Creative Scrapbook friends! It’s Jinny here today to share a new project inspired by the October Creative Kit. This month’s kit boasts papers, ephemera, and cardstock stickers from Doodlebug Design’s darling Farmhouse Collection, as well as a couple of color-coordinating ribbons and a fun, “thankful”, pumpkin cut file. The latter was my starting point for today’s share, which we should really get into; because I had such fun creating this month that I want to share it all! Honestly, I wish that I had more time to play, because there is one print, specifically, in this collection that would make the cutest cards and/or tags; but alas, I’m working with a deadline, so let’s just get started.

I started this page by adding a large puddle of lime green watercolor near vertical center of my 12x12 watercolor paper, background page. Once it was dry, I splattered everything with that same shade of watercolor, as well as yellow, coral, and aqua watercolors. I then stamped a number of leaves from my stash, trailing from top to bottom of the page, in Stampin Up’s Lucky Limeade, More Mustard, and Calypso Coral inks, as well as Ranger’s Jet Black Archival Ink, before splattering everything, once again, with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints. Once everything was dry yet again, I secured a trio of patterned paper strips, as well as a cardstock sticker scallop, vertically, near center of my prepped page, with gold-threaded, straight machine stitching and topped them with a hand-cut, from a patterned print, “on the MENU” journaling bit, anchored with more gold-threaded, straight machine stitching.

That journaling card coordinated with my photos perfectly and set the stage for my family’s handwritten, Thanksgiving day menu, which was then sandwiched between this month’s “thankful” cut file on the right and my photos on the left. The cut file was backed with a couple of playful prints; wrapped with a length of white string, tied in a bow…

and topped with a handful of cardstock stickers all backed with layers of foam tape.

My photos were both matted with white cardstock; but the bottom one was also backed with a couple of colorful prints, anchored with more gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, and dressed up with a cardstock sticker tab, secured with a couple of office staples.

Finally, I added a trail of playful ephemera…

and cardstock sticker word bubbles…

beginning at that same, aforementioned, bottom photo…

and moving up and over my handwritten menu…
before ending, on the opposite side of my page, above my prepped cut file.

Below are the other scrapbook pages that I created using the October Creative Kit. I’d love for y’all to stop by my instagram @loftydesignsbyjinny, throughout the month, for a closer look!

Thanks so much for visiting today, My Creative Scrapbook friends! As always, I cannot wait to see what y’all cook up this month!
