Welcome back, My Creative Scrapbook friends! It’s Jinny here today to showcase a new project inspired by the March Creative Kit. This month’s kit is lovingly packed with bright, happy die cuts, stickers, and papers from Bella Blvd’s Love Grows Here Collection. It challenged me in so many ways; because, in case you didn’t know, I tend to lean towards neutrals with pops of color. So, I heavily leaned into my neutral watercolor backgrounds this month and am so pleased with the outcome; but you be the judge.
I started this page by adding puddles of aqua and bright pink watercolors to my 12x12 neutral, watercolor paper, background page. I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as blue, green, and yellow watercolors. I then traced around a number of different sizes of circles with my Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen, before splattering everything once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints. That set the stage for a trio of colorful prints from the kit, which I layered and anchored with neutral, black-threaded, straight, machine stitching. My photos themselves were matted with white cardstock and arranged in a grid design with a hand-cut 3x4 image anchoring the grid’s bottom, left corner. Since my silly girl thought the fridge might be a good hiding place, I designed this corner as a kitchen, stacking my kitchen elements and appliances with foam tape.
I also couldn’t help throwing a sweet dog next to a length of white string, wrapped around my photo and tied in a bow. My family and I are dog people. Actually, the rest of my family might be cat people, too; but thank goodness my husband is allergic, because I am not a cat person. LOL!
I then used a number of soft green sequins from one of last year’s Creative Kits; circle stickers, which actually inspired my hand-drawn circles, from this month’s kit…
and a “hello sunshine” paper element, which I die-cut in the shape of a circle. All of my circles were popped up with layers of foam tape for that depth and dimension y’all know I love so much. A sticker tag, laced with more white string, tied in a bow…
as well as my “silly girl” sticker title and handwritten journaling, complete the look.
Here are a few more projects that I created using the March Creative Kit. I’d love for y’all to stop by my instagram @loftydesignsbyjinny for a closer look!
