Hi Friends,
I'm up on the blog today to share a layout I created using the main December kit. This was such a fun kit to use with so many lovely embellishments and gorgeous papers to use.
I was so drawn to the wreath paper in the kit but had to keep circling back to it to see how I could make it work for me, since it was such a bold pattern. I decided to trim out the middle of the wreath but fussy cutting and adding in a backing of white card stock that I lightly inked with distress oxide ink in color Salvaged Patina.
Next I decided to paint in the wreath to add a pop of color. I painted the leaves with Evergreen Bough distress oxide ink and the berries with Festive Berries distress oxide ink. I backed my photo in a simple black card stock and added two clusters of embellishments, one on the top right of the wreath and the other on the bottom left of the photo.
I finished by adding the title, bow on top of the pic (which makes it look like a gift!), adding a journaling strip and a little bit of white paint splatter to break it up. I really enjoyed making this layout and so glad I persevered with this paper because I love the result.
Wishing you all a happy holidays and hope you enjoy creating with your kits this month.
Maree
