Creative Kit Showcase with Jinny

Welcome back, My Creative Scrapbook friends!  It’s Jinny here today to showcase a new project inspired by the May Creative Kit.  This month’s kit is all about summer and sunshine with playful papers, everyday ephemera, element stickers, and chipboard accents from Echo Park’s Our Groovy Summer Collection and chipboard words and phrases from Echo Park’s Have a Great Summer Collection.  I chose to highlight a fun page boasting elements from all of the products in this month’s kit, as well as a stencil, sequins, and even a vellum scrap leftover from past kits, for you all, today.  It was the last page I made with this month’s kit contents, which goes to show you that all these fabulous monthly goodies just keep on giving.  Enjoy!

I started this page by adding a large puddle of varying shades of orange in the center of the 12x12 watercolor paper, background page.  I then splattered it with those same shades of orange watercolor, as well as sky blue and green watercolors, before smudging Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Up Ink through an older Creative Kit’s star stencil.  Once everything was good and dry, I traced those inked stars with a black Faber Castell artist pen and splattered everything once again; but this time, with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  After everything was dry a second time, I matted my photos with white cardstock; stacked the top photo, which I had such fun hand-cutting (My kids were thoroughly impressed with that dimensional bat look.), over a couple of fun prints, anchored with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching…

and tucked a tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, under its top edge.

My second photo was also backed with a couple more of the kit’s playful prints, anchored with more black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as my last torn bit of a vellum swirl print from an old Creative Kit.

I then stacked a number of cardstock and chipboard stickers…

as well as paper ephemera, some of which were adhered foam tape…

and sandwiched them all between a trio of cardstock and chipboard lemons.  A scattering of an old Creative Kit’s soft green sequins and a little, handwritten journaling complete the look.

Here are a few more of the projects that I created using the May Creative Kit.  I’d love for y’all to stop by my instagram @loftydesignsbyjinny for a closer look!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  As always, I cannot wait to see what y’all cook up this month!  Be sure to stop by the blog, as well as our Design Team Gallery, for lots more amazing inspiration with every last one of the May kits.  Until next month, happy scrapping!
