Welcome back, My Creative Scrapbook friends! It’s Jinny here today to showcase a new project inspired by the October Creative Kit. This month’s kit encapsulates a combination of Carta Bella and Simple Stories collections, Americana and Cider & Donuts, both of which I’ve chosen to showcase in today’s tutorial; where the kit’s plethora of circular stickers inspired my circle play. Enjoy!
I started this page by adding a large puddle of yellow watercolor to the 12x12 watercolor paper, background page. I then splattered it with that same shade of watercolor, as well as orange and green watercolors, before stamping a few sketched circles from my stash in Jet Black ink and splattering everything once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints. Once everything was dry, I anchored a handful of photos, as well as a trio of prints, both of which were cut in the shape of circles, along with a few of the larger, circular stickers, with overlapping, gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.
I then had lots of fun embellishing with foam stickers, including hearts, flowers…
and the “HELLO fall” title, which I topped with a “FAMILY & FRIENDS” word sticker…
as well as element and sheet stickers, the latter of which, with the exception of a few hearts, were conveniently shaped like circles.
This particular phrase sticker was also popped up with foam tape just to give it more of the same depth as all of the foam stickers used previously…
and I love that this closeup, not only highlights the sequins from last month’s kit, but also demonstrates how little these circle stickers actually get with that sweet, little acorn to the bottom left of the mushroom.
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, so I hope you all have just as much fun creating this month as I did! And just in case you missed them, here are a few more projects that I created using the October Creative Kit. I was even able to put our July Creative Kit leaf stamp to work in the second background design below. I’d love for you to stop by my instagram @loftydesignsbyjinny for a closer look!
