Hi My Creative friends,
Maree here to share a layout I created using the gorgeous December main kit. This kit was so full of amazing products and I just loved creating with it! The Vicki Boutin circle paper jumped out at me as soon as I unboxed the kit. I used a variety of circle dies and punches to carefully cut out the circles precisely.
My next step was to hand stitch each circle using a coordinating DMC thread. I used a simple back stitch but all 6 strands of the floss to make it really stand out. The stitching took several hours but I enjoy it and always think the end result is worth it. I added my two pictures on white card stock and stitched them in white to make them stand out against the colors. Once all the circles I wanted to use were stitched I cut out a curved pattern on the text paper to create an anchor for the circles. I played around with the circles to get them positioned in a pleasing way. Then I adhered them all down using tape runner. This gives a little wiggle room in case I wanted to re-position them.
Then I added the foam words 'December' and 'believe' and finally the acetate title of falala which the angle of matched my page perfectly. I finished with some simple journalling at the bottom of the page and I was tempted to add some black splatter at the bottom of the page but I was too scared to ruin the stitching, so left it plain white. This was an incredibly fun layout to make and the kit is so full I know I will use it to make many gorgeous layouts. I hope you are enjoying your kit this month too! Merry Christmas to you and your family and happy holidays.
Maree
