We love our guest designers and the fabulous inspiration that they bring. Kat Benjamin is no exception! Today she is sharing how she created the fun background on this November Main Kit layout!
Hi, everyone! Kat here today to share an easy idea about how to create an interesting background for a layout.
For this you will need the following supplies:
-2 pieces of cardstock (one for the base of your layout, the other to cut into)
-scissors, pencil and a stencil/die-cutting machine
-spray mist
I would normally use my die-cutting machine to do this, but I know that not everyone has one, so for the purposes of this tutorial, I did everything by hand. :)

1. Using a pencil and a stencil, trace shapes onto the piece of cardstock that you are not planning on using for your base.
2. Cut the shapes out of the cardstock and layer the paper over the base cardstock, creating a mask.
3. Mist!
4. Once dry, remove mask and begin creating!
Here’s my final project. I like that the effect is subtle, but still adds a bit of interest.
