Step by Step Shabby Chic Scrapbook Page Tutorial by Amy Voorthuis

Raise your hand if you're going to dig back in to your January Limited Edition kit this week!

Design Team member Amy Voorthuis has prepared a start to finish layout tutorial so that you can re-create her stunning January Limited Edition kit layout for your own scrapbooks!

Hi everyone,
Today I would like to show you a layout that I made with the amazing January kit! This kit has all pretty papers by Kaisercraft the Treasured Moments collection in specific also you will have the collectables from the same collection in this kit.
For this layout I used the black and white papers but first take look at this beautiful kit:

For this layout I have a photo tutorial for you and I used the Marion Smith sheet in this kit combined with the green sheet form the Kaiserkraft collection which go lovely together. I used a picture of my two nieces for this layout and I really wanted to use the scissors in the collectables pack which I thought was could when it looked like it was cutting around the circle.

Sisters:
Don't you just love these papers this is really one amazing kit to work with. This was a wonderful layout to make and not that hard too so here is my step by step photo tutorial but first have a closer look at my details:

As you can see I used two different card stock sheets in pink colors to match the flowers on the Marion Smith sheet and I used two sprays one by Prima color in bloom which was in a earlier kit from My Creative Scrapbook and one by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I normally take a lighter color for my my background sheet so this was a real challenge for me but I think it worked out wonderfully with those sprays and gesso to make it a little lighter. As you may now I love to have many layers on my layouts and this was no exception I also love to stitch as I did here on the edges of my page and on the circle behind my picture.

Here's my tutorial:
First you tare out a piece from that green sheet and cut out a circle from the flower sheet.

Then I thought why place that tare on the left bottom of my layout and not on the top right side?? So I changed that composition because I think that looks much better. I also cut out two pieces of pink lace strips for the upper part of my layout and stitched all the border s of my layout.
Then I made some tares to go around the circle which I finished with some screw brads then I sprayed and used a script stencil underneath my circle.

Then I cut out some elements to also place on my layout which are those roses & butterflies on the left. I also added the text strips and scissors!
And now I placed my picture as I liked it and finished my layout off with all the adds you get in this amazing January kit. Like the bling swirls, flowers and text strips.
As you see here I used the pieces I tore out in the beginning of my tutorial for a little more text!
Thank you so much for your visit today and I really hope you like my layout as much as I loved making it! Have a lovely day....
