Spotlight on My Creative Sketches Designer Shizuka Hirano

Today we are shining the spotlight on one of our very talented sketch team designers!

Shizuka Hirano

Shizuka has been a member of our My Creative Sketches design team for over a year-and-a-half.  She creates really beautiful layouts, based on our monthly sketches, to inspire you with, like this one:

Shizuka designed that stunning page as a sample for our December sketch challenge, which is still open, by the way, and has a beautiful prize package to go along with it!

We thought it would be fun for our readers to get to know Shizuka a little better!  We asked her some questions, and here is what she had to say:

What is your favorite color combo?

My favorite color combination is light blue, yellow, green, and white.  I often use this color combination without even thinking about it.

What is a scrapbooking tool that you could not live without?

Mist, ink, and Gelatos are never missing from my work.  I match the photo to the paper, and after adding the embellishments, I love to add a little color.  I like to create depth with soft colors, never too bold.  I finish my work off by adding white.

Do you have your own scrapbook space?

My scrapbook space is very small, but still I am grateful that a space is available for me to use!

What is your favorite scrapbook subject?

I like to scrapbook my family, especially photos of my sons.  I love to look back at my pages with my kids and reminisce.

Please share why you love scrapbooking:

I love scrapbooking to be able to have the important family memories recorded in a gorgeous way.  In addition, I love the sense of accomplishment when I complete a scrapbook page.  It is a way for me to relieve stress, and time for me to devote to something where I can feel the joy of sharing completed pages with my family.  Scrapbooking is a hobby that I must have in my life.
