Tips and Techniques by Sandi Clarkson

Sandi Clarkson is featuring our January Limited Edition Kit today with a handful of tips and tricks for you!

--------------------

Hello, everyone! Due to the rush to get my projects done after the Christmas holidays, most of my designing was done in the evenings and I couldn't complete my regular tutorial for you. So I thought I'd  just share a couple of helpful hints.

First up, something I rarely do. On my "Smile" layout above, I decided to remove one layer of the large yellow Prima Divine flower and make it a bit smaller.  It would have worked the other way but I thought this looked a little cuter in the smaller format.

(photos taken while I was working, excuse the quality)

On this fun "Best Ever" layout, I colorized my title by simply using black
Stazon ink. It was what was handiest! I'm sure that a any number of media would have worked just as well.

What I wanted to point out in the photo below is that I stabilized my resin frame with a small piece of cardboard from the shipping box. The reason I had to do that was because I had mounted my photo on cardboard, so the resin was sitting kind of high and I just want to secure it.

Loved using the included Mr Huey's chevron stencil on these 2 projects!

I really loved mixing the pink and green  colors of the Kit .. along with the red! Yum!

Again, using a double photo technique. Lots of watered down gesso behind the photo to further illuminate it and bring interest and focus.

I have gone back and straightened up my "Lucy" alphas a bit. They "y" was a bit crooked and that drives my crazy! So, always measure as you work!

I guess that's it from me this month! This was such a delightful Kit!  I hope you have yours!
