Step by Step Layout Tutorial by Jodi Wilton

Hi everyone, Jodi here today! How are you all enjoying your amazing August Kits?!  I am still in love with my kit, and today I wanted to share with you a step by step tutorial on how to create a layout using the August Main Kit.  This layout took me under an hour to create (yes it can be done!)  My inspiration for the entire layout came from the cute Globe with a Heart Paper!  I really wanted to use as much of this "globe" theme as possible without the layout looking too busy.  Here is the breakdown of how I created the layout:

I first gathered my white cardstock and then created a border using the Doodlebug Washi Tape found in the kit! I use washi tape all the time to create a border, and the mix of black is really striking with this kit:

Next up I cut two pieces of the globe paper to fit on both sides of my layout, leaving a 6 inch white space in the middle (the pieces were approximately 2 1/2 X 1 3/4):

The next step was to add the 4 X 6 photo at about 3 1/2 inches from the top of the layout. I then added my title using the Thickers in the kit as well as the alpha stickers.  Just under the photo, I added a 6 inch length of ribbon (hint:  you can cut a piece of ribbon just over 6 inches long and tuck both  edges under the paper to keep it look uniform)

Time to embellish! Use foam tape to pop up the pennant sticker at the top of the layout.  Add three corner stickers and the You Make the World Go Round sticker. use foam tape to pop up the big globe sticker.

To finish off Cut down the Globe 4 X 6 card to fit the space provided.  Add the border sticker cut down to 6 inches and add both flag sentiment stickers: Simply Wonderful & The Good Life.  Add a chipboard button tied with twin from your own stash.  Finish up with cutting the bottom border saying to fit between the washi tape border:
