Hi friends, It's Mary Ann here today, with some fun ideas for using the May Scrapbooking kit! I just love the Homespun collection from Simple Stories that's in the kit, the cute stickers with things like a rolling pin, apron and mason jar make me want to bake something and then scrapbook about it! That's what gave me the idea to make these cute recipe cards.

They are so quick and easy to put together, and the best part, these were all made with left over scraps after I had already made 6 layouts!!
To start each card, I cut my left over papers into 4x6 pieces. I added more scrap pieces and stickers to each card for a bit of decoration, then added the recipe on the reverse side. I normally print recipes that I want to keep or give to a friend, so I still printed the recipe and just made sure to fit it to the 4x6 size. I also printed the name of the recipe to add to the front of the card.
I love looking into my recipe box and seeing the bright happy colors!
Oh, and here's the recipe for the S'mores Cups, perfect for those nights you want a dessert for the family, but don't want to give up your scrapping time ;)
S’mores Cups
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups of graham crackers
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- 3 marshmallows for each cup (you could also use the mini size)
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 3/4 cups of graham crackers
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- 3 marshmallows for each cup (you could also use the mini size)
- 1 stick of butter
Melt the butter in the microwave and combine
with the graham cracker crumbs using a fork. Press onto a muffin tin and bake for 10
min or until golden brown. Top each cup with chocolate chips right after
removing from the oven (so that they melt). Set aside. When you are ready to
eat or serve, place 3 marshmallows on top and place in the oven on broil (high
setting) for just 45 seconds. Enjoy!
And.....here's one last little scrappin' tip for you!
Banners are a popular trend in scrapbooking right now, and I use them quite often on my layouts, but it seems like I always get one side too short, it's cut off-centered etc., here's a great way to cut the banner shape using a square punch that will give you perfect matching sides!
