My Creative Scrapbook Guest Designer Lisa Swift is sharing a look into her design process featuring our May Main kit.

Here's Lisa:

"Lisa here today to share a bit about my layering process with you. Layering is a wonderful way to add interest and depth to your layouts and other paper projects. Think of it as being similar to using building blocks or putting puzzle pieces together.

This is what my layout looked like with just the "base" elements adhered. Did you notice how the plaid paper acts as the foundation upon which I layered the other pieces? To add even more depth, I used 3D foam squares to make the butterflies "pop" off the page.

The second step in the layering process means it's time to add a matted photo and a pocket created from a piece of patterned paper. The pocket is machine stitched to the page to add a bit of texture and to make it sturdy since it is going to hold a journaling tag.

To finish the page off I embellished the photo and the pocket, again layering different pieces. Don't be afraid to use small parts of embellishments. For example, I cut the "2" off the end of the grey ticket to use on the pocket. Now I have the remainder of the ticket to use on another project.

Here's a look at the finished page. As you can see, I added in a few embellishments and moved others around until I was pleased with the arrangement. The area underneath the photo turned out to be the perfect spot for my title."
