There are a couple of detailing touches that I almost always use on my layouts before I call them finished. One of them is highlighting areas of the project with glitter glue. I use Stickles for this, and almost always in a neutral color such as crystal, diamond, or stardust.
The glitter glue along the bottoms of the "every day" letter stickers (above) and along the bottom of the word "amazing" (below) adds just enough detail to help those embellishments stand out against the background papers.
I used similar glitter glue detailing in my next layout:
The "321" and "Jump" stickers came pre-highlighted with darker shadows. I just went over those highlighted areas with my Stickles to add further detail and interest to the stickers.

Another really simple detailing touch that I very frequently use on my work is adding faux pearls using a dimensional gel pen. There are a few different brands of pearl pens out there and in a variety of colors so give them all a try and choose your favorite.
Can you see the little faux pearls that are placed in the valleys of the scalloped border (above) and along the outside edge of the layout (below)? They are subtle and as such may be difficult to see in my photos, but in person they add a really lovely feminine detail to the projects.
