Liz's Twenty Answers

To refresh your memory, we've asked each member of our illustrious design team to answer a series of 20 questions. In the last installment we learned that Pam, the owner of My Creative Scrapbook, has an identical twin, an affinity for mom jeans and could never be a contestant on Name That Tune.

So we continue the series with Liz Qualman, our Design Team Coordinator and Sketch Artist, with her responses to the same 20 questions.

1. What is your stupid human trick?

I am not always convinced that I am human and I’m pretty sure I am not stupid, so think I’m gonna pass on this one.

2. Most embarrassing moment?

Once when I was teaching a student came up behind me to ask a question and when I turned around to respond, a big glop of drool rolled out of my mouth. It was truly horrifying to me and especially the student.

3. Proudest moment?

Obviously when my kids were born. But, there is a radio station in Boulder that has a Stump the Sage promotion every Wednesday morning and one day I finally got through to the DJ and he could not answer my carefully crafted question that I had been saving for months. I ran down the hall at school to tell my colleagues (at least the ones that would care) and I won tickets to a wine tasting event – don’t you just love the karma.

4. Nick name or hubby's pet name for you?

Lizard

5. Worst crime of fashion?

I think I used to own a very tight fitting, peg legged pair of acid washed jeans when I was in high school…the horror!

6. Favorite song?

Stayin’ Alive

7. Favorite movie?

My favorite television show of all time is Miami Vice. I still get a kick out of watching them on DVD. My favorite movies: The Sure Thing, The Princess Bride and anything by James Cameron.

8. Celebrity crush?

John Cusack

9. Guilty pleasure?

Spending time by myself. In my current state of mommydom, this rarely happens.

10. Elvis oil painting on velvet, pink lawn flamingo or garden gnomes?

Oh my Gnome! We actually have a Buddha statue in our back yard that looks a bit like a gnome – we are not really Buddhists, but it is a nice place to stack coins and very small rocks.

11. Bad habits?

According to my husband, not turning my clothes right side out before throwing them into the laundry hamper.

12. Dream vacation?

I’m going to Disneyland!

13. Favorite color and why?

Green – it matches my eyes.

14. What are three non-scrap related items you can't live without?

Coca-Cola
Keens
Fleece

15. If you had a super power, what would it be?

Eternal Youth – in the long run it would be cheaper than plastic surgery and topical products.

16. If your life were turned into a movie, who would play you?

Can’t I play myself??? Just kidding. This is a toughie, because all of my favorite actresses are older than I am and I really don’t need to give the impression that I am REALLY old. So I guess if I have to choose someone, I should go for a younger model... right??? How about Anne Hathaway?

17. What genre would the movie be?

Definitely a comedy.

18. What's the best advice you've ever been given?

You can’t think for other people.

19. Biggest pet peeve?

Loud chewing.

20. Share something interesting about yourself that most people don't know.

I once met Muhammed Ali and he gave me a really big hug. And before I started teaching, I worked for KRAFT – the mac and cheese folks.
