I am excited to be on the blog today sharing a layout I made with the main January kit. I love making winter layouts and this was such a fun kit to work with.
I started by using the lovely snowflake stencil to create a textured background. I used some Simon Hurley Solar paste in the color Royal flush which is an iridescent white with a pinkish undertone of sparkle. I left it to dry for a few hours because I added the paste on pretty thickly to get a nice clean background.
Once that was dry, I distressed the edges of the blueish plaid paper and added a horizontal strip to anchor the page. Then I worked on backing the kit cut file with the pale blue dot paper. Next I backed the pics with the navy snowflake paper and added them to the layout. I tucked in a little tag with bakers twine and added a few of the gorgeous stickers to embellish in two cluster areas.
For a finishing touch I added some sparkly gems from my stash to give the layout that extra special wintery feeling. I loved making this layout and hope you have so much fun creating with yours this month.
