Welcome back, My Creative Scrapbook friends!  It’s Jinny here today to showcase a new project inspired by the December Creative Kit.  This month’s kit is overflowing with Carta Bella’s Christmas in the City collection and has a touch of Echo Park’s Christmas Magic collection thrown in.  I’ve chosen to highlight the page where I put a rotated take on one of this month’s sketches to work for you all today, mostly because I feel that it most matches my design style.  I’ve thrown a stamp, from the June Creative Kit, and a stencil, from the July Creative Kit, into today’s mix; but I’ll share my whole lot of December Creative Kit projects, where you’ll also find red, glitter, foam Thickers from the April Creative Kit and a star stencil from the September Creative Kit, below.  So, be sure to stick around until the very end, because who doesn’t love gifts that keep on giving?!  Without further adieu, let’s dive right in.

I started this page by adding puddles of two different shades of green watercolor to the center of my 12x12 watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with those same shades of green watercolors, as well as navy watercolor.  Once everything was dry, I used the July Creative Kit stencil and June Creative Kit stamp mentioned above, in combination with Night of Navy Stampin’ Up ink and Jet Black Ranger ink, to add depth and dimension, before splattering everything once again, but this time with Titanium White acrylic paint.

Once everything was dry again, I tore a trio of prints at an angle; adhered them against the left side of my design, overlapping one another; and anchored their edges with gold-threaded, straight, machine, double stitches framing the entire design.  After matting my photos with white cardstock, I got to work layering on the chipboard, sticker, and die-cut ephemera goodness, beginning with this trio of blooms, which I backed with Always Artichoke cardstock, holly leaves, edged with Tea Dye Distress Ink, and Handsome Hunter cardstock, evergreen leaves.

I also tucked in a couple of sticker packages, as well as a length of that scrumptious Washi Tape, for good measure…

before turning a couple of paper ephemera bits into tags with simple punches and Baker’s Twine.  A circular “Peace ON Earth” die cut, popped up with foam tape…

draws us to the “Merry and Bright” sticker title, which I popped up with foam tape and grounded with a “Christmas Joy” chipboard title, as well as a “WISHING YOU A CHEERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON” phrase sticker and couple of white cardstock strips for my handwritten journaling.

A trio of sticker ornaments, popped up with layers of foam tape, were hung, from the trio of Christmas blossoms that we started with, with lengths of Baker’s Twine, tied in bows, to bring us full circle; and lots of chipboard and sticker snowflakes, scattered about, complete the look.

Here’s that December sketch that started it all.

And as promised, here are a few more projects that I created using the December Creative Kit.  I’d love for y’all to stop by my instagram @loftydesignsbyjinny for a closer look!
