Watch Me Grown tutorial using the March Creative kit by Jinny

Hey, y’all!  It’s Jinny here today to share my first blog tutorial.  I decided to highlight my hexagon page this month simply because, with the exception of any stamping, it speaks most to my style and showcases the gorgeous die cut in this month’s Creative Kit.

I started this page by adding two shades of blue watercolor to the background of my 12x12 watercolor paper base page. I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as yellow and red watercolors and Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  Once everything was dry, I hand-cut all the medium-sized hexagons from many of the pretty prints in this month’s kit.  The smallest hexagons (mostly hearts) were hand-cut from the Echo Park “Bright Hexagons” print.  Once all my hexagons were placed, I used my Silhouette to make a second white, cardstock, hexagon frame to match, with the exception of the flower and butterfly, this month’s kit die cut, which I paper-pieced to coordinate with the rest of my prints.

A few floral element stickers, as well as a die-cut tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, were tucked under my main photo, which was topped with a chipboard accent butterfly.

A chipboard accent sunshine crowns my whole design.  I adore that sweet face it boasts!

Even though it was more than a decade ago, I can remember the moment in time that I’ve highlighted here like it was yesterday.  I tried to explain it all with lots of handwritten journaling…

topped by a chipboard accent “WATCH ME GROW”.

A few of the hand-cut hexagons, that trail off the left edge of my page, were topped by an “I LOVE YOU SO” phrase sticker and butterfly element stickers…

which float to the bottom right side of my design, as well, to complete the look.

And just in case you missed them, here are a few more pages that I created using the March Creative Kit.

Thanks so much for visiting today, My Creative Scrapbook friends!  I cannot wait to see what you all cook up with this month’s kits!
