Hi My Creative friends,
Maree here, up on the blog, to share a layout I created using the January main kit. This kit had such lovely colors and cute icons. I wanted to showcase the Vicki Boutin stamp set that came with the kit so I decided to do a page about my son and my Mum spending time together.
I started off by cutting apart the tag page and picking the colors I wanted on my layout. I then added matching eyelets to each tag for a little shine and dimension. I did this using my Crop-a-dile tool. Then I went to work stamping the tag stamp from the set. I used the distress oxide inks in the colors: festive berries, scorched timber, scattered straw, speckled egg and faded denim. Then I fussy cut them out. Next I used the number stamps from the set to stamp on each tag in black ink.
I laid everything out on my page in a grid and offset the stamped tags on the fussy cut tags from the paper. I placed my picture and then added the title from the sticker sheet and gold thickers. (I popped up the word memories on foam tape). Then I added in ephemera and stickers to each tag and added my journaling. I originally placed it at the bottom but the balance was way off so ended up adding it across the photo and negative space on the yellow tag which I believe worked much better. I added the highlights word from the stamp set directly onto the page above the journaling.
I added little journaling notes of things they like to do together in each stamp tag. I really enjoying making this layout and the memories it involved. I find it is sometimes hard getting pics of my teen boy, so using this to document other memories as well was nice.
I hope you love creating with your kit this month!
Maree
