Creating with Claire using the January Main kit from MyCreativeScrapbook.com

 Claire Hawkins: 2025 Main Kit

Hello and welcome back to the My Creative Scrapbook Blog!

Today I’m excited to be bringing you my first blog post of the year with the January 2025 Main Kits and they’ve really got my scrapping off with a bang!

I’ve opted to pull out the homely elements of the collection to document some pictures of my precious god-daughter visiting. I started with a sheet of white cardstock but felt it was too harsh for the homely feel I wanted to create, so I pulled some plain kraft cardstock from my stash and grabbed the star from the stamp set included in the collection.  Using brown Distress Oxide ink, I inked the pouter edge of the cardstock and then stamped randomly in the same colour across the page to create my own patterned cardstock. Then, to add that rustic feel, I tore the page leaving a large piece which I could then adhere to the white background.

Next, I created a layered square using two of the pattern papers to anchor my page. Using this as my base, I positioned my photos across the top corner, layering tags underneath to create a but of extra interest and to soften the edges.

I added clusters using ephemera and stickers from the kit layering these around my photos.

I selected a few pieces of ephemera for my title, positioning them on foam in the bottom left corner of my square. To add that home like feel, I added a dresser, tea cups, shelves and books from the ephemera pack and love how this really helps convey the feeling of being at home.

As a final touch, I hand drew a border around my patterned paper square.

This was a fun one to make and really pushed me to try and create a warm and cost feel on my layout. I hope you like how it turned out!

Enjoy the January 2025 kits – Please do tag us and share what you make. We love to see!

Happy scrapping!
