Jingle all the way with Claire!

Today I’m feeling all festive with the November 2024 Main Kit! I just adore scrapping the holidays and couldn’t wait to get started. I was lucky enough to spend last December in Zurich in Switzerland so have lots of tales to tell – perfect for this kit!

As usual, I’ve started with crisp white cardstock for my base, and created a multi-photo horizontal design, pulling in all the traditional Christmas colours that I adore!

Taking three patterned paper from the kit (1 floral and two green), I cut my first floral panel to create an anchor, roughly 10.5” x 4.5”. I distressed the edges and raised on foam. Underneath that, I slid two separate paper strips in each of the green patterns, being careful to make each strip slightly smaller than the one above it.

Again, I distressed the edges before adhering to the page.

Next, my 3 photos. I chose the red and white striped paper to act as a mount for each picture – I love how a stripe frames a photograph and this gave me a perfect pop of red to match my photographs.

Then came the embellishing! Given there was quite a lot of pattern from the paper, I opted for the long string of lights from one of the sticker sheets, stretching this right across my photos to mimic the feel of the Christmas Market.

Next, I built two small clusters. The first cluster to the bottom right of my photo strip uses a selection of trees from the sticker sheet and chipboard pieces, layering one on top of the other to create dimension.

 

The other cluster uses small paper banners from the ephemera pack with some of the smallest stickers from the sticker sheet to add a few florals.

 To finish, I chose some of the cardstock phrases and layered these centrally underneath my design with the largest title at the top, to the smallest piece at the bottom – I love how this mirrors the paper layers in descending size and so helps to keep the design cohesive.

 As it’s a festive layout, I couldn’t resist a little bit of sparkle, so I finished the page with a few gold Nuvo Drops, just to add that extra touch of magic.
