Hi My Creative friends,

Today I'm here to share a fun layout using the May Main kit. I was very inspired by the little seed packet ephemera from the kit and decided to base my layout around them. I chose some pics from my garden last spring. I did a tone on tone with the background papers and seed packets. To add detail to the layout I decided to stitch around the flowers and borders of the packets using matching embroidery thread. I love this technique and think it adds so much to a layout.

To do this I used a paper piercing tool on the ephemera over top over a foam pad and punched holes evenly where I wanted to stitch. I also decided to stitch the watering can and title also. I then used a simple back stitch technique. I probably spent around 4 hours stitching and found it very enjoyable. I love the sweet colors in this kit and even though my photos were quite bright I think the content matched so well.

I printed my pics in a 3 x 1 collage and printed it as a 6x4. I then added the 3 strips of patterned paper in the background. They are about 6 cms wide each for reference. I mounted my pic on the yellow paper to pull in some color pops from the ephemera. Once my stitching was complete, I added the seed packets, watering can and title and finally some of the word ephemera on the left. I really enjoyed working on the kit this month and can't wait to see what you all make with it!
