Hi My Creative Friends,

I'm excited to be on the blog today and share a layout I made using the January Main Kit which features Discover and Create from Vicki Boutin, a fun stamp set and some black mini Alphas. It is a gorgeous kit and I had so much fun creating layouts this month! There were so many pieces in this kit!

The paper with the embroidery hoop really drew my attention and I wanted to base this layout around that large icon. I fussy cut the hoop out and placed it on white card stock. I decided to add some mixed media and stamping in the background. I used Distress Oxide in Stormy Sky, which I added with a blending brush, then I used a couple of stamps from the stamp set to add in more interest.

I mounted my pics on the gorgeous grey/green paper. Next I cut out one of the Cutfiles from this month and backed it with papers from the kit. Once my pics and the cut file were adhered I added 3 different cluster groups, mainly featuring florals, from the puffy stickers and ephemera packs. I added in a few word stickers from the sticker sheet to tie everything together.

I was struggling with the placement of my journalling on this quite full page and in the end decided to place it centrally in the cut file. I am quite happy with how that turned out. I added the black clip at the top of the pics and like how the gold ties in with the  'this happened' sticker. I finished the page with a little ink splatter also in Stormy Sky.

I love how this turned out and it was so fun to create. I would love to see what you come up with using the January Main Kit.
