Creating a Card with Kit Leftovers by Christin Grønnslett

My Creative Scrapbook design team member Christin Grønnslett is sharing some Limited Edition kit techniques and inspiration today!

Here's Christin:

I guess you are not the only one that faces either one of this:1) lots of scraps but not really wanting to throw them away and 2) you are in a hurry, but not really wanting to make something. Well this is the project for you.

You start up with your kit leftovers. This is what was left of my August Limited Edition kit before I started the project of making a small 4x6 card.

Tak out your papers

Start by cutting your leftovers into different widths and tear the edges of the side of the papers, not necessarily as straight as possible, uneven will be just as fine.

Start with the darkest paper and layer the cards on top of each other, and you can see that two of the smaller pieces go in the middle.  Do not use much adhesive underneath, and why I will show you in a bit.

You want to add more layers, I have used the round Artisan and taken the advantage of its flexibiliy and put pieces on the upper part of the card and the lower part. Since there are no straight edges it works great. Then add some border stickers in different sizes and tuck then between the layers.  Now you will see why it's a good idea to not adhere the layers to tight, otherwise you will have not have space to tuck the extra borders in between.

As you can see  I have cut the pieces of the paper much wider than the actual card so the last step before adding more is to cut the edges off.

Finish project. Here I have added the a flower, the stickers are both adhered using 3d foam squares to add a little extra depth.
