Meet Our October Guest Designers

All of us at MCS are so very thrilled and honored to have had the opportunity to work with these three amazing women this month. You will not believe the awesome stuff they've created with their kits! You'll be able to see these creations in just a few short days. In the meantime, however, why don't you take a moment to learn a bit more about these talented ladies.

Delaina Burns

My name is Delaina Burns and I live in the small town of Roanoke, Alabama with my husband of 24 years and our two children. Simon is 18 years old and began his first year of college this fall. Anna is 16 years old and is in the 11th grade. I am surrounded by a large extended family, and you will see many of their faces featured on my pages and projects.

I have enjoyed making things with my hands for as long as I can remember. I am a self taught seamstress and have operated a successful custom drapery and bedding business from home for more than 12 years. This job has enabled me to be home for my family, while working and helping provide for them.

I began scrapping 3 years ago, after receiving an assignment from my daughter's cheer coach to make a scrapbook of the season’s events. Though very unhappy with the assignment, I persevered and made a few pages. The bug bit and I have never looked back. My love for the craft and the crafters I have met along the way has changed my life. I encourage everyone I know and/or meet to give scrapbooking a try.

I design for, and teach at my local scrapbook store, Sweet Memories in Carrollton, Georgia. I am also on staff at Scrapbook News and Reviews Magazine. I will have my first paper publication in Scrapbook Trends' January issue. I am so excited about being Guest Designer at MCS! I have been a fan of their kits and the design team for a long time. I can’t wait to work with this talented group of designers and to get better acquainted with the members at MCS.

Susan Goetter

Scrapbooking has been my creative passion for the past nine years. When I retreat to my scrap room I can put my daily job on the back burner, and become creative. As a former member of the MCS design team, I was thrilled to come back as a guest designer for the month of October. I’ve missed the challenge and the teamwork – and the kits are always fantastic!

I was a member of the DaisyD Design Team from 2007-2008, and a design team member for My Creative Scrapbook in 2008-2009. I’ve been a guest designer for Kraft Girls Kit club, Creative Scrappers, and Scrapbuck. I’ve been published Ivy Cottages and Scrapbooking and Beyond and in the ezine – Scrapstreet. I’ve had layouts accepted in the Basic Grey gallery, Graphic 45 gallery, and the Silhouette gallery.

Teresa Manchas

Hello! My name is Teresa, but everyone knows me as Catz. I have been scrapbooking for about four years now, and my daughter is the one I blame for my 'addicted to paper' habit! I love the vintage style, but I also try different styles every now and then, just to keep the creative juices flowing! I have two adult children, whom I am so very proud of, and two very active grandsons! My husband and I live in a small town in Washington State - so I'm thankful for the rain... it’s an AWESOME excuse for staying inside to scrap! I am so tickled to be a guest designer for My Creative Scrapbook. I have seen so many of the layouts others have created with these kits and they are amazing! This will be too much fun!

And the winners are...

We wish to thank everyone for their amazing entries in our Anniversary contest. The number of participants was far greater than we had ever anticipated and for that we are very thankful. We appreciate your continued support to MCS and your willingness to share your wonderful creations with everyone on a daily basis.

I know... I know... you're thinking, "get on with it already!"

So without further ado, the winners for our Anniversary Contest are:

Layout Category
CG Moon - Smile

Card Category
Meggiroux - The Magic of Christmas

Album Category
Angelique - A Perfect Day

Altered Category
Ali - Witches Boot

And the winner for the Grand Prize (chosen by random drawing) is Tanya Desmond! Tanya created an item for every category of the contest in order to qualify for the Grand Prize drawing. She's a scrapping machine!

And lastly (but certainly not least), Pam is sending a RAK off to Romy for all of the wonderful comments she left on everyone's entries. It's clear she spent several hours perusing the contest gallery just to view others' work and to leave glowing comments. And don't we all really love to receive comments on our work? So a big thanks to Romy! She rocks!

September Reveal

As soon as I woke up this morning I bounded out of bed and did a little early morning jig. Not because it was a long, holiday weekend (besides, I'd already done the long, holiday weekend jig the prior evening at 5:01PM). My morning jig was because I knew, that as soon as I logged onto My Creative Scrapbook's website, I'd see September's Kit reveals. ~dancing another jig~

And Wow! When I saw what Pam had in store for everyone, I added a lively kick and some clapping.

MAIN KIT

CREATIVE KIT

ALBUM KIT

LIMITED EDITION KIT

For the specifics on any of the above kits, just visit My Creative Scrapbook's homepage. MCS is fast becoming one of the most popular kit clubs around. As a result, the kits tend to sell out very fast! Do not let this discourage you. Pam strives to keep up with the kit demands, so she maintains a waiting list and adds several new members every month. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, email Pam at MyCreativeScrapbook@gmail.com and before long you'll be dancing the reveal day jig yourself.

Sneaking Suspicion

I have a sneaking suspicion that there may be some September kit peeks posted over on the MCS boards. And if I were the type of sleuthy scrapper that wanted to take a gander, I might look here and here.
