Shabby Chic Romance: Designing Vintage-Inspired Layouts with Marie Sabatier

 Hello scrapbooking friends!

Are you looking for inspiration to document your favorite everyday moments or unforgettable travel memories? Today, we are thrilled to feature a gorgeous layout created by Design Team member Marie Sabatier, using our October Limited Edition (LE) Kit.

Marie has brought a delightful blend of vintage romance, rich textures, and floral elegance to this page, showcasing just how versatile our LE Kit can be!

Layout Highlight: "Everyday" Moments in Style

Marie’s page perfectly balances soft, muted background tones with vibrant pops of color from her photos and floral embellishments. Featuring photos of a charming outdoor café setting complete with cozy red umbrellas and outdoor seating, this layout demonstrates how to make travel or dining photos shine. Don't forget to check out Marie's process video for even more inspiration!

Design Highlights & Details:

1. Dimensional Floral Clusters:

Notice how Marie clusters soft paper flowers in lush shades of turquoise, cream, and deep magenta around the bottom-left corner of her photos. The addition of subtle glitter accents on the flower petals adds a touch of shimmer without overpowering the photos.

2. Subtle Mixed Media & Distressed Papers:

The background paper features delicate lace patterns, vintage typography, and warm golden-green tones. Marie accentuates this vintage feel by layering die-cut elements like a key, a vintage clock dial, and delicate script banners.

3. Layered Title & Sentiment Strip:

The layout features a dual sentiment approach:

   • At the top right, a banner labeled "CORDIAL" pairs with a vintage pocket watch face and a bold magenta blossom.

   • Below the focal cluster, a typewriter-style "EVERYDAY" word strip grounds the photos along with sweet sentiment tags like "LOVE, FABULOUS, happy times".

4. Peeking Background Layers:

By slipping a complementary patterned paper behind the top-right corner of the layout, Marie adds depth, texture, and a fun pop of rich burgundy pattern that frames the main page beautifully.

Scrapbooking Tip from the Layout

Try Offset Photo Placement!

Instead of aligning two photos side-by-side perfectly, tilt or offset them slightly. This adds dynamic movement to your page and creates a more relaxed, conversational feel—ideal for travel snaps or everyday memories.
