Layout Share with Marielle!

Hello friends, Marielle here today to share a layout I created with just two of the papers from Crate Paper in the April main kit.

Beautiful

I just LOVE cut apart sheets of patterned papers ! They are so versatile and really go a long way.

This is the other side of the paper.
There are so many fun designs.

I started by choosing the tags I wanted to use for my layout and then punched a few circles in various sizes.

Here's a look at the pieces I chose.

I used the cut strip from the bottom of the paper and adhered it to the right side of the wood grain background paper and used the colorful word sentiments under my photo. Love all of the bright colors.

Add the tags under and to the left side of the photo ( my niece).

Add journaling tag and title ( Jillibean Soup foam stickers, love these !!!)

Add smaller circles as embellishments.

and finally adhere a few of the foam heart stickers.

Thanks for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have a great time creating with the April main kit !

Hugs,
Marielle

Walk Through with Zelda!

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing a floral wreath layout that was created using the April Creative kit Spring Fling by Echo Park Paper

Once I saw the B side of the 3x4 journaling cards I knew I just had to fussy cut all the flowers and create a DIY wreath.
Now fussy cutting is definitely not my favourite thing to do but I just turned on Netflix and binge watched one of my shows and before I knew it I had a pile of flowers cut out.

Using my Tombow markers and a black Faber Castell pitt pen in size M I coloured and doodled out 6 flowers in a circular pattern on white cardstock to act as a guideline for my wreath.

I liked the doodled flowers so much I decided to create more and fussy cut them to make my own ephemera.

Included in the kit are these beautiful enamel and resin floral embellishments. To add dimension I layered them adhearing them with hot glue and using a sequin for the center.

The flowers are placed randomly around in a circle, and glued down.

To create the base page white cardstock is cut to 11” x 11” and matted with blue cardstock from my stash cut to 11 ½” x 11 ½” Both are then placed on the 12x12 spring bloom patterned paper framing my layout.
To prevent the layout from becoming too bulky  a 10” square is cut from the center of the patterned paper. This also allows me to use the leftover patterned paper on another layout.

The picture is matted in the same blue cardstock and layered with frames and a tag from the ephemera package. I finished the tag of with a tiny bow made from ribbon that also came with the kit.

For dimension foam squares are used to attach the self made ephemera around the wreath and pink thread was added in behind each one for some texture. The metal/resin floral clusters were adhered around the wreath using hot glue. For the title I chose you are sweet from the ephemera pack and added a couple stickers from the sticker sheet.

Here is my finished layout. I hope this inspires you to create a DIY wreath layout of your own

April Sketch Inspiration with Yvette!

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans!  It's Yvette here, to share a quick and easy step-by-step tutorial using this months beautiful Creative Kit, with the April sketch as my inspiration. Sketches are such a wonderful way to get your creative mind started, which can help you to complete your layout in no time.

I started by die cutting the hearts border from some white Neenah cardstock.

I decided to flip the sketch horizontally and place the die cut down the center of my page.

Behind my photo I added some layers using color cardstock and some of the beautiful patterned papers from the 'Spring Fling' collection. I fold the paper in the left corner onto the photo and added a staple to hold it in place.

I also added a doily from my stash to the back of my photo before I glued it onto my background.

I fussy cut one of the beautiful butterfly from the Fluffy Bunny patterned paper to embellish the Bee Happy tag, which was also used, as a title for my page.

A few drops of white paint was then added to the layout. Once the paint was dry, I combined a few die-cut flowers with a couple of 'Spring Fling' stickers to create a cluster on the right hand side of my photo.

I finished the layout off by tucking some tangled black thread underneath the photo and some stitching around the border of my layout.

I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Beautiful With Monique!

Hello friends! It's Monique here today and  I'm sharing a step-by-step for one of the layouts I created with the April Main Kit. This kit contains mainly Carta Bella's Flower Market collection and I totally adore all the beautiful papers in this kit, especially those b-sides! Red is my favorite color, and when you see the b-sides of the papers in this kit you'll understand why I love them so much!

For today I chose to do a step-by-step of my "Beautiful" layout. The photo of my daughter was taken a few years ago when we were in Greece. I love the flowers behind her in the photo and how they match not only the color of her clothes, but also the colors in this kit!

When I start with a scrapbook page I always gather my supplies close around me so I have a good look at all the products I can use:

I started with a white cardstock sheet and adhered two strips of patterned paper on the left side. The photo was matted on two pieces of patterned paper and in the largest piece of paper I cut a v form at the bottom. The photo was then placed on top of the strips of paper on the left side:

I wanted some flowers to add to the corners of the photo, but as I had no flower die-cuts left I decided to hand-cut some flowers from the "Garden Floral" paper:

When I had the flowers placed where I wanted them, I decided the white cardstock was too white and using a blender brush and a light pink ink pad I colored the cardstock around the photo a light pinkish color:

Next I wanted to use the white foam "You Make Miso Happy" Jillibean Soup alpha's for the title, but I wanted a colored title instead of a white one and tried coloring them with a few different pens before deciding the Copic Markers were the best choice to hand color the letters (the others pens didn't dry quick enough for my taste):

Look what a beautiful result. Against the white cardstock, this looks much better than a white title I think.

After adding a few more die-cuts, machine stitching, a date stamp and a few drops of ink I was done!

Here are a few more close-ups:

Here's a quick look at the April Main kit:
