Fun Tags with Shona!

Hi everyone!  I am back with another share from the gorgeous July Limited Edition kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I created three fun tags and I even used the flower packaging as the background.

First I cut three tags from the flower packaging…I love to use the carboard it is so sturdy as a tag! I also cut pieces from the kit papers.

Adhere all of you pieces to the tags.

Lastly add some twine, embellishments from the kit and splashes of 13 Arts gesso to finish them all off.

That is it for me today, Super easy and a great way to use up your small pieces. Make sure to check out all the amazing kits available this month! Take care and happy scrapping!

Summer Layout with Marielle!

Hello from Canada ! Hope you are all having a great Summer.
Today I am sharing a Summer layout created with the fun and colorful July Main Kit featuring the Good Day Sunshine collection from Echo Park.

I {heart} Summer

The AWESOME July Main Kit !!

Step 1- I love, love, love colorful patterned paper and wanted to use them all on my layout without it looking too busy. I decided to cut small pieces of them ( size range from 1"X 2" to 2"X 3").

Step 2- I  adhered 4 of the pieces of paper slightly to the left of the cardstock and machine stitched them into place.

Step 3- Repeat process making sure to use various size and patterned papers. ( I have 5 rows).

Step 4- Add a strip of the pinwheel paper at the top to hide the stitch line.

Step 5- Mat photo with white cardstock. Add chipboard piece to right side of photo and the banner sticker under the photo. Adhere photo to layout.

Step 6- Add 2 more paper pieces to the left of photo, machine stitch ,if desired.

Step 7- Add a small strip of the striped paper to your journaling card (to break the white space).

Step 8- Adhere journaling card with 3D foam. Add stickers, brads, and enamel dots from the kit.

Step 9- Add the rest of embellishments.

I totally loved creating with this kit.
I hope you get one of your own from the My Creative Scrapbook store and to please share with us your beautiful projects !
Happy Crafting :)

Process with Madeline!

Today I'm sharing a fun travel page, assembled using the July main kit from My Creative Scrapbooks. And believe it or not, the page was created with only two sheets of patterned paper: one for the background and a second for everything else!

Now I'll tell you exactly how I did it!

First, I gave my background a little spritzing with 2 colors of mist-one light, one dark:

Then I strategically cut a rectangle slightly smaller than my photo, in the exact spot where I would place the picture.

I placed my photo exactly where I wanted it to end up and pencil marked its outline:

Then I cut inward approximately 1/4 inch from the pencil marks, removed and flipped the rectangle of paper:

Now I had a rectangle of green print, the reverse of my background page. I thought it would make a great photo mat, but, being slightly smaller than the photo itself, I needed to place it off-center or somewhat askew as shown below:

Next it's on to fussy cutting. The sheet of travel journal cards holds so much potential; they just needed to be set free! So, after cutting apart each of the rectangles, I fussy cut various elements from them: the globe, heart, airplane, and camera. Then I created banners from some of the other pieces.

As you can see, even the smallest of scraps came in handy for the upper banner:

When I cut apart the map-print heart and phrase below it, I was left with a stencil which I used to cut a second heart for my page:

With baker's twine, I assembled my banners, gluing the flags on the upper banner, but punching holes and threading the twine on the lower one. Other details were added, including the fussy cut airplane and enamel dots.

That second cutout heart became part of a cluster that overlaps the photo:

And finally, a title was created with the kit's alphabet stamp set:

Here it is again, all from two sheets of paper and elements from My Creative Scrapbooks July main kit.

Good Day Sunshine with Monique!

Hello My Creative Scrapbook friends! It's Monique here sharing my July step-by-step tutorial using the Main Kit with amongst others all the lovely Echo Park "Good Day Sunshine" goodies!

This is the layout I created and I thought I'd show you how I made it. Don't you just love those happy colors & patterns?!

I started with the fun July cut files and decided to go with the umbrella cut file in the top right corner:

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut the umbrella from the b-side of the Echo Park paper "Little Red Wagon":

I chose three patterned papers to back the umbrella, trying a few combinations first before deciding on these three:

The three left-over pieces from the umbrella cut file served as a template to hand cut around:

Love the result:

As I found the white cardstock a bit too white to serve as a background for my layout I sprayed some yellow and blue mist on my cardstock:

I started building my layout by creating a border on the left side, adding a few lines of typed journaling as well:

The umbrella came next:

After matting the photo I decided it should go at the bottom of the umbrella. I chose a few stickers and chipboards and punched two flowers to add to the photo. On top of the umbrella I adhered two chipboards as well:

I love the Dear Lizzy alphabet stamp set that is included in this kit and used it to stamp the title on my page:

And for the finishing touch I used the sewing machine:

Really loving how this turned out.

Here are a few close-ups of my page:

This is it! Hope you like it!

Here's the photo of the July Main Kit. If you wish to read more about it or how you can secure one for yourself then please visit the MCS website.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy scrapping!
