Hand Stitching with Yvette!

Hello My Creative Scrapbook Fans!  Yvette here, and today I have a fun page I want to share, created with the gorgeous June main kit!

I started by selecting the patterned papers I wanted to use on my layout (I decided later not to use the blue strip paper;) along with a Die-Cut heart, some white floss for my hand-stitching and a chevron template, created from white cardstock.

Next, using the chevron template I started tracing the design onto each of the patterned papers and cut them out using a scissors or a craft knife.

Once I had everything arranged as I like it, I then adhere the Die-cuts hearts and all of the chevrons onto a 12x12 white cardstock.

Instead of filling the entire background with the pattern paper chevrons and hearts.  I decide to add some texture with some hand-stitching. I use a paper piercing tool to piece holes all around the chevron template and added some simple backstitching using white embroidery floss.

I also use the 1 canoe 2 Twilight stamp set to create a few flowers to place on top the Die-Cut hearts.

Here are a few close-ups...

Added a few fussy cut butterflies, a cluster of flowers as well as a few vellum die-cut stems around the page.

I couldn't help myself from adding some more stitching to my layout :))))  I did this by adding the stitching directly to the top of the hearts and the chevrons.

I hope I inspired you today to create something beautiful using the June main kit!

If you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

Bride Walk through with Angel!

Hi Creative Scrapbook Fans! This month I am going to show you how I created this layout titled the bride. It was created using the June Limited Edition Kit!

First I choose the pattern paper I though went well with my photo and color scheme. Then I primed my page using white Gesso.

Then I used prima color bloom spray in Tea stain and Soft Teal.

Using the circle stencil that was in the kit I then used soft texture paste over the page as shown below.(forgot to get a photo of just that step)

I felt it needed more color so I added more color bloom spray in both colors.I still felt like I need some Pink in this as the papers had them in it.so I pulled out some Tim Holtz oxide in worn lipstick. I also added some cracked pistachio and vintage photo.
I did this by rubbing some ink on a acrylic block with a lil spray water.

Mixed thw water around with the ink and made it muted. I did this with all 3 Colors.

Then I placed it flat on my paper in different areas.

I then primed my chipboard pieces with white gesso and rubbed Metallique Rose gold and opal magic Royal Robes wax over top of the primed pieces.

Added my Photos and flower clusters and a few chipboard pieces along with a thickers title.
That completes my layout titled the Bride.

Heart of Gold with Zelda!

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a step by step pictorial of my layout Heart Of Gold that I created using the fabulous June Creative Kit!

I must confess I have maybe only scrapbooked about a dozen or so of my wedding pictures! After looking through this lovely kit, and seeing all of the stitched frames and the wood veneers, I was inspired to scrap one of my wedding pictures.

I chose the heart of gold veneer to use as my title, which then gave me the idea to sketch a large heart onto white card stock. I measured to the center of the paper at 6” and down from the top at 4”. I marked this spot with an x, and placed another x in the center of the page, ½” from the bottom. I then made another couple of markings at 3” across and 1½” down on both sides for the top of the heart.

Once I had my markings in place I lightly sketched out a heart.

Using my paper piercing tool, I poked holes around the perimeter of the heart about every centimeter. I then erased the pencil markings and stitched around the heart using gold DMC floss.

In this month’s kit there is a lovely golden geometric ombré paper, which I decided to use to cut out a heart to fit inside of the stitched heart. I then distressed the edges of the heart and inked the edges with some distress ink. From the left over ombré paper I punched out a bunch of little hearts and placed them diagonally on the layout.

I chose a black and white picture that I trimmed down to 4x5. I picked out 4 of the stitched frames and backed my photo with them; cutting some of them in half so I could have parts of the frames showing around the outside of the photo. Using some 3D dimensional dots I popped my photo onto some black corrugated cardstock.

For some added texture I put cheesecloth behind my photo after I had dyed it with some Mr. Huey’s color mist.

I created some enamel dots using some of my nail polish in gold glitter and black faux leather. I just let drops of nail polish fall from the nail brush onto some packaging and then let it dry overnight. I used my fine tip glue pen to adhere my DIY enamel dots to my page and finally I added some black splatters.

Here is my completed layout!

Please welcome our New Guest Designers!

I'm a long time memory keeper and scrapbooker that loves anything artistic. I love to play with pretty paper and take photos so scrapbooking is a perfect creative outlet for me. Working full time means I look for ways to be creative in small amounts of time. I know I'm not the only one who struggles to find time to create which is why I love to share with others on my youtube channel ways I've found to still create beautiful projects in a limited time.

Caroline Elliam
"I’m Caroline known as Caroline Elliam on the net, I scrapbook for 13 years or so. I’m a mother of 3 boys and I live in Quebec, Canada. Scrapbooking is not only a hobby it’s a way of life. I’ve always been active in the scrapbook industry since my beginnings, I’ve own a scrapbook store for 4 1/2 years and now I run Cuts2luv, a badges brand for almost 5 years. This is a family thing, every body is involved in the company and are proud to help.

I couldn’t really describe my style, I like clean and simple as much as layouts full of flowers. I like to vary with the products I have on hands. My heart always go to watercolor backgrounds. I’m actually on Lindy’s gang DT, this was my biggest dream. I feel blessed to have been chosen on this fabulous team 2 years ago. I’m also coordinator for Scrap aux Puces. And finally, I’m on the designs teams of More than words and White with…1 challenge blogs.

It’s an honor to be guest at My Creative Scrapbook for the next months. »
