Hello all.  Welcome to the Blog again today.  I am sure you are being wowed with all the amazing creations the Girls have for you this month.  Today I am sharing My projects using the main Kit.
I had a lovely time with this kit.  Full of lovely, pretty bits and pieces, and some gorgeous papers.

Here is the Main Kit for September......

And heres what I made with it.

Layout 1
"Laugh"

Created with a Printed Paper Background, with some Papers from the kit, cut to 3x4, to Sit in behind the photo.  Elements from the kit layered to embellish, added crochet cotton, with Chipboard Alphas from the kit.  Splashes of Black ink added.

Layout 2
"Playdate"

Printed Paper background,  Some stencilling using The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 stencils and distress ink.  Added torn strips of Papers in the kit. A few Elements from the Kit...and white ink splashes added.

Layout 3
"The Words you Speak"

White Card stock Background, some remnant paper pieces cut down from the 3x4" pieces cut for the Project Life Spread.  Some elements from the embellishment packs in the kit, Splashes of black ink.  Some layered circles painted to accent.  Alphas from the kit, and hand written title fussy cut.

Layout 4
Project Life Side A
"Week 23"

This one was lovely to create, I used as many of the neutral papers and embellishments as I could and kept it nice and light.  Just adding minimal accents of red and green in the elements pack in the kit.
The Black alphas worked great too.

Layout 5
Side B

Layout 6
"My Little Buddy"

Loved using the neutral elements in the kit to keep things bright, light and airy!
Cardstock, Papers from the kit, Doily, Elements layered and stacked from the embellishment packs.
Crochet cotton added (Not in kit) Painted chipboard frame from the element pack, Gold Paint Splashes.

So that is the run down of my projects this month!
You will probably need this kit!  Its pretty nice :-)

Returning Guest Designer
Wendy Antenucci

Hi my name is Wendy Antenucci and I am from FL.  I am married to my wonderful hubby of 14 years and we have 6 kids, ranging from 12-11 months.  I started scrapbooking shortly after my first child was born in 2002.  I am a SAHM and homeschooler so I tend to scrap during my kids rest time; it helps clear my mind and get me through the rest of the day.  My style has developed, over the years, until I am confidant to say I am a scrapper that adores white space with lots of layers and I am always on the lookout for the perfect way to embellish my pages that connect with the memory I am telling.  I design for Bella Blvd and Simple Stories.  I have been published in Creating Keepsakes, Cards, Create, Scrapbook Trends, Scrap365, PaperCrafts & Scrapbooking, Scrapbook & Cards Today and various online publications.

Guest Designer
Kim Watson

Kim Watson lives on a mountainside with her family, in the beautiful seaside suburb of Kommetjie just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. She is married to her best friend who is ever patient with her need to mess with paper & glue, as well as have a camera present whenever possible. Her sweet children & life next to the ocean surrounded by nature, give her an endless source of content for her pages, which she describes as being full of texture, layers, color & not forgetting her trademark stitching. She has enjoyed the privelege of scrapbooking professionally for 7 years, designing for American Crafts, Carta Bella Papers, Pink Paislee, Bella Boulevard, Cocoa Daisy kits, Creating Keepsakes magazine for 5 years as a Dream Team member, and 4 years with Fancy Pants Designs.
Kim loves more than anything knowing that the time & love put into her scrapbook pages will help her children remember how good their childhoods are & that even the ‘not so good times’ leave us with lessons learnt & wisdom gained.
Watch for Kim's designs to be revealed later this month!

Fun Ways to Use Decorative Tape by Nicole Doiron

Nicole Doiron is featuring our August Main Kit today with some fun ways to use decorative tape!

--------------------

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to be on the MCS blog today to show you a few tricks on how to use the Decorative Tape (otherwise known as Washi Tape) included in the August Main kit.

I have to admit, I don't use Washi Tape too ofen, but I do love the feel and versatility of it.

The first thing I wanted to do with it is create beautiful bold flowers to add to my kit creations.
Not to waste anything, I used the packaging material from the MME buttons.

I layered strip after strip of tape on to the cardboard...

until it was completely covered up to the top part.

Turning the piece over, I just simply stuck the edges of each tape strip on the back side.

I then used different flower dies and my Cuttlebug to cut flowers out of the tape-covered card board.
If you don't have flower dies, you can easily use different size and style flower punches, or even draw your flowers by hand and cut with a scissor or exacto knife.

The cut flowers looked like this.

I ended up punching out small circles out of pattern paper to put in the center of each flower.

Here are the flowers used on one of my double-page layouts.

I dabbed them with a touch of white paint.

Then, left with the negative piece of my die cut flowers,
I thought to cut around the outline of each to create more flowers.

These ones I used on my Lovin' the Good Life layout, adding a button from the kit for the centers.

And more of them...

Another way that I used the Washi Tape is to add it to white cardstock
to just create the illusion of another pattern paper to use on my project.

Again, just lining up strip after strip.
What I love about this tape is that if you line it up crooked once in a while (as I often do), it doesn't fully stick to the base right away, so you can always rip it off again without damaging anything and start over.

Now I have a shiny glossy piece of pattern paper.

I used a big circle puncher to punch a hole out of one side.

And I used it on one of my cards.

And that's it, folks!

There are dozens and dozens cool ways to use decorative tape.
