A Scrap Space Remodel by Angel Rodrigue

My Creative Scrapbook design team member Angel Rodrigue is giving us a tour of her brand new room!

Here's Angel...

  Hi , Angel here and I  wanted to share with you my new room Remodle. I was one of the winners that was chosen for the Blitsy Dream Craft Room Giveaway. 

 And on Feb 14, 2014 my furniture arrived.. Talk about one happy girl  and then the work began…

Because I won this furniture My sweet Man decided to give me a new room with new hardwood floors and new fresh painted walls. Oh My I was one lucky Girl. But Oh so Much work was to be done. I had to empty out a jammed packed room. Ughh As you will see below it was so worth it.. I am still unpacking boxes here and there and adding to my room.   

                                                      The Big Reveal...

                        Here is a photo coming into my room. My Room is 12x13.

Below is a close up of each wall coming from the doorway.

Here are the tall and the short Alex I received.. Above that I have two Recollection Embellishment centers. The First one holds my Paint daubers and paints supplies , the second one holds all my sprays and stains. The Middle one my Sweet Man Made me. That holds Acrylic Paint. On top of the Alex I have two clip ups one holds all my Lalaa , Greeting Farm, Prima doll and Gorjuss Girl stamps. The second one Holds My screens and mask. I also have all my distress inks which on the white holder (again made by my one and only).

Here is the area that I do all my Design team work at.I have my table between the two shelves.As you can see I have my stickles and Liquid Pearls hanging upside down using Velcro from above the shelf separator. 

To the Left I have my stuff stored in the boxes and my Cricut Cartridges. The bottom has all my layout done for MY Creative Scrapbook Design Team!

On the left I have all my flowers in there orginal Jars and more storage boxes. Next to the shelf you see the wicker basket. That is stuff I still need to pick up then I will use that for my go too supplies I use on a daily basics.

This is the other wall.. I hold all my paper to the left including my past My Creative Scrapbook Kits in the clear cases with black straps..

To the right the shelf that holds my sewing machine has all my sewing supplies stored there. I also Have My Albums there as well. The cubes next top that has some project life, Ribbons,Tulle and my cameo supplies.

Here behind the Island holds all my Machines.. 

 Here is my Cart from Ikea.. I organized my Project Life Supplies in this as well so easy to roll to the table. I just ordered another one and it came in. So I will be replacing the white cart soon. Love these carts...

This picture with the black Curtain is my office area. It's not quiet done as my poor man did not get to make my second shelf which will hold my Flat Screen TV and a few other things. I will have this posted to my Blog when completed so If you want to see this then keep a eye out HERE

To the right is my entrance door to the room. The basket next to the door is my dump all when I come back from shopping.. As you can see Its time to pick up the new stuff.

A few organized Items...

I used the clear bead storage and organized my eyelets, brads, and Sequins.

Here is what I stored in the Alex drawers this whole bottom unit is filled with punches. First 3 drawers has We R Memory Keepers box envelope and other cutters along with my plates for my machines.

Here is my Tim Holtz and Martha Stewart Glitter ..Stored in the other Alex Drawer. This unit hold all my powered stuff Like Glitter, flock, embossing powder, mica, etc.

This unit hold all my inks and liquid media stuff along with embossing gun and stamping things.. I also Have my  Gelatos, Watercolor Pan set, and melting pot.

Here is how I store My loose Flowers.. I do have 2 more full drawers of flowers that are still in packages (Thanks to Pam:) ).. Love me some flowers..

This is How I store the flowers sprays and some bling . My Sweet Man made this Peg board for me.. I love to see all the pretties hanging up.

This is how my ribbon is stored.. I also have some in a basket that I never put away yet.

How to Create a Detailed Altered Frame in Under 30 Minutes by Nicole Doiron

Today, I will show you how I created this lovely altered frame with the May Main kit in just under 30 minutes!

I started off with this Dollarstore square wooden frame with wide edges.

I spread some light molding paste on parts of the frame (leaving a few spots bare) using a fancy stencil.  I then dried it with my heat gun.  (3 minutes)

I then dabbed some white acrylic paint all over the frame to give it a whitewash effect. (2 minutes)

I cut a piece of pattern paper about half an inch smaller than the frame on each side.  I then rounded the corners. (1 minute)

Lining up the patterned paper square carefully on top of the frame, I flipped the frame over to trace the photo opening.  I then cut it out.  (2 minutes)

To give a bit more dimension to my frame, I stuck the patterned paper to the frame using lots of 3D foam squares. (1 minute)

I glued a strip of ribbon on the bottom edge of my frame and made a bow.  (1 minute)

 Here you can see a close-up of the textured design created with the molding paste and stencil.

 It was then time to embellish my frame a little.  I cut a doily shape in half and tucked each piece on either sides of the frame.  I then added a quote stuck on a little journaling frame that I cut out of the patterned paper. (2 minutes)

I carefully ripped the bottom layer of the pink rose included in the kit to make another flower and tucked half of it behind the quote.  I added the heart and tab stickers.  (2 minutes)

On the opposite corner of my frame, I added this jar of flowers that I fussy cut out of the patterned paper.  I stuck it to the frame using 3D foams squares. (2 minutes)

I decided to add the chipboard key and some more flowers which you'll be able to see in the next images. (2 minutes)

 Knowing that I wouldn't be able to use this flower vase sticker on another project, I decided to cut the flower part and tuck it behind my flower cluster.  (1 minute)

 Here you can see all the flowers used so far.  I also cut a square of different patterned paper to put in the photo opening until I'm ready to put the perfect picture.  (1 minutes)

 I wanted to add more flowers so I made some homemade ones, punching 2 medium sized flowers out of patterned paper.   I then stuck one layer over the other using a glue dot.   I added a pearl in the center and folded the petals upwards, giving a bit more depth to my flower.  (1 minute)

 

 

  I repeated this process and made 5 identical flowers, adding 3 of them to my flower cluster.  (5 minutes)

 

 I added buttons in the center of 2 flowers. (1 minute)

And I added 2 more homemade flowers in the upper corner. (1 minute)

 

And there you go...   28 minutes!

A very quick project to do that will last a lifetime :)

Background Tutorial by Lydell Quin

Welcome back today!

I thought I would share a quick and easy background with you.

Here's the Layout I created using it.

Here's how I did it.

Spray a stencil on a piece of light coloured cardstock

I used a Crafters Workshop Stencil and Shimmerz Paints (Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz)

I used a piercing tool to poke holes around the border of the stencil

I tried to keep them fairly even.

I put a foam mat under the cardstock so the piercing tool could go through the paper cleanly

Thread a needle with crochet cotton and so a simple straight stitch.

(up one hole, down the next)

It looks really pretty!

Then I started layering all the accents and embellishments for my page.

The stitched accent adds a lovely amount of dimension in the background.

You can use this technique on Project Life cards, Art Journaling, cards 

and many other papercrafting projects.

AND

you can do it in front of the TV!!!
