Step 2 * Apply embossing powder over chippie. Shake off excess embossing powder

Posted Image
Step 3 *Heat the chippie with a heat tool until the embossing powder melts.

Posted Image
Step 4 *I put a layer of Distress Crackle Paint on top off the embossing chippie so that it go crackle and dry this also with the heatgun

Making the Most of Kit Products with Romy

Design Team member Romy Veul is sharing three wonderful techniques today for making the most of the kit products.

Here's Romy...

I really loved the banner and birdies in the main kit this month, so I wanted them to be prominent on my layout. To make them stand out a bit more, I simply outlined the banner, the text and the birdies with a black fineliner.

----------------------------------------

One of the sheets in the LE kit has gorgeous doilies printed on it. I thought they deserved a layout all for themselves and just had a lot of fun layering the fussy cut doilies on my layout 'Zomerfan'. This is how I made the doilies in the photo below:
1. Fussy cut the doilies with a precise knife.
2. Layer them using foamtape for some beautiful dimension in your layout.
3. Decorate them with bling (which is also included in the LE kit) and liquid pearls.

----------------------------------------

I always love the lace that Pam includes in the kits and I just have to use it till the last bitPosted Image This is what I did with the lace in the LE kit this month.

I first added some lace behind the layer of punched paper on my layout. Since the lace is pretty broad, I didn't need it entirely, so I actually cut the lace in half.

With the other part of the lace that I had left-over, I made a double bow to use on my second layout:

Creative Use of Border Punch Leftovers with Melissa

Happy Saturday!  Design Team member Melissa Vettorel is sharing a wonderful tip for making great use of left over border punch trimmings!

Here's Melissa...

I want to share how I made the border around the picture of my 2 cute page. It's super easy and really cute!!
Posted Image

All you have to do is save the left over trimmings from a punch. I used the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Cherish punch.

Ink the edges and adhere them to the edge of your photo

Using Chipboard Shapes as Templates with Anna

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today designer Anna Zaprzelska is sharing how she used a chipboard shape as a template.

Here's Anna...

The diecutting machine is a great options, but sometimes you only need a bit of your creativity - that's all! If you dream about fancy shapes, just look around! Some interesting shapes you can find close to you, for example: boxes, cardboards, candy wrappers, plates etc. You can use it, try and have fun with it.

In the July LE Kit, you will find a cardboard chipboard - fancy frame. Before I used it for my layout, I just draw the edges of this shape on paper and cut out. In this way, I got an interesting element that I used in my layout and card.

 Have a great weekend!

Faux Quilted Background, Glitter Circles, and Chipboard Altering with Shell

Today Design Team member Shell Carman is sharing three fantastic techniques for adding texture and interest to your projects!

Here's Shell...

I wanted to share with you how I created the faux quilted background on my always in Love page
Posted Image

Firstly I took the Websters Pages In Love sheet with the cake on it from the Album kit. I used the pattern as a guide to score lines approx 1 inch apart diagonally in a diamond pattern
Posted Image

Fold along the scored lines first lengthways
Posted Image

Then use a dark brown ink. I used Versa Color in pinecone & ink along each fold line
Posted Image

Now fold along the remaining score lines & ink also
Posted Image

Fold along the score lines for a second time & gently distress the edges with a distress tool
Posted Image

When finished it will look like this
Posted Image

Once I had stuck this to my page I then added some Viva liquid pearl in ice white to each crossover
Posted Image
This is something simple to try to give a bit of texture to your page & gives a more vintage look!

-----------------------------------

I was really excited to see the Teresa Collins Blingage glitter in the Album kit. I couldn't wait to have a play! I decided to create some interest to my background on this page by adding some glitter circles
Posted Image

Firstly I worked out a rough layout for my page before I drew my circles. Once I was happy with it I stuck down the first few layers. Using a plastic plate I traced around it using a pencil.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Once I was happy with where I had drawn my lines I used some glue (Tombow Mono multi purpose glue but any clear drying glue is fine) Just use a fine line of glue along the pencil lines
Posted Image

This is the messy part! I placed my page in an old Pizza box but if you are lucky to have a glitter tray then use that! Lightly sprinkle the glitter along your glue lines
Posted Image
(make sure you have a good hold on the glitter pot because I dropped mine & made a big mess :P !!)

Finally shake off the excess glitter into the pizza box then use a funnel to pour the glitter back into the pot. Use a clean dry paint brush to help brush away excess glitter. This is how it will look finished
Posted Image
This technique is a bit messy but lots of fun. It gives your background some movement & interest!

-----------------------------------

This months Main kit features a gorgeous chipboard circle frame. Here is a quick tip on how I altered the frame for this page
Posted Image

First start by painting the whole frame in gesso. Wait for it to dry
Use a black glimmermist (mine is just a generic one form my LSS). Take the spray off the mist & use a paintbrush to paint the mist on instead of spray.
Posted Image

Once the mist is dry use some crackle paint. I used the Tim Holtz distress crackle in rock candy which is clear. Remember that how much crackle paint you use depends on how obvious you want the cracks to be. Use a thicker coat if you want more of a crackle
Posted Image

You will get a better result if you let the crackle paint dry naturally. I wait until it is almost dry then use my heat gun to speed it up. This is a close up of the crackle finish

Thanks for looking!
