Cut File Design by Paige Evans!

Hello everyone! I am so excited to guest design for My Creative Scrapbook using their October 2019 kit which features Truly Grateful and this exclusive Leaf Heart cut file I designed to go along with it!
Start with a Grateful Heart by Paige Evans
I started by die cutting the Leaf Heart from textured white cardstock and then I backed the leaves with patterned papers from the kit. I also backed the right half of the heart with the light purple grid paper and machine stitched around the right edge.

On the plaid paper background I splashed watered down white acrylic paint and then adhered the Leaf Heart as a slight angle on the right edge. I trimmed off just a tiny bit of excess cut file hanging over the right side. I added two 3x4" photos of Jane from last fall to the heart.

Time for embellishing! I brought in stickers, die cuts, and florals from the kit and added them all around the photos, focusing mainly on adding them to the right side of the layout. I machine stitched around the border of the page. Then I trimmed four triangles of purple floral paper, distressed and machine stitched around the edges, then added them to the layout corners.

To finish I wrote journaling on the bottom left side and added a partial piece of a floral die cut below. I hope you are inspired to check out the My Creative Scrapbook kits and cut files I design exclusively for them!

Tutorial with Marielle!

Hello, Marielle here with a colorful tutorial created with Vicki Boutin's beautiful Wildflower and Honey collection (featured in the September main kit).

I have been lucky enough to have met and enjoyed crafty times with this creative dynamo! She is as funny as she is creative :)

In my stash I happened to have these yummy paint colors from Vicki Boutin. The colors are Cherry Tart, Orange Slice and Crushed Pineapple and are a perfect match for the bright papers I chose for my layout.

I stated by adding splats of paint in 3 wide strips on a blank piece of white cardstock. Let dry.

Cut 3- 1 1/2" X 5" or 6" strips of pink, orange and yellow papers. Adhere to background paper , machine stitch into place, if desired.

Punch out a few 1 1/2" circles using the hexagone paper.

Also punch out a few 1" circles in pink, orange and yellow.

Fussy cut a few of the flowers.(also in pink, orange and yellow)

Mat photo in white cardstock and a small strip of the heart patterned paper and adhere to layout
with 3D foam.

Add a border strip at the left top corner. Machine stitch into place ,if desired. Trim off the top of the black "flower" to adhere at the bottom.

Add embellishement to the bottom of your layout ,as shown.

Add other embellishments (stickers and chip board pieces)
Here's a close up (with better lighting !!!)

And an other :)
I loved creating with this kit !!!
Thanks for popping in to view the blog today.
If you haven't bought this kit yet...hurry...It's just that awesome !!

Sketch Process with Yvette!

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Friends! Today, I am sharing two layouts with you using the September sketch.  I absolutely love working with sketches, it really helps in reducing my time spent planning out my placement. All I have to do is pick out my photo/photos, pattern papers, and embellishments and then decide if I'm going to use the sketch as is or take it in a different direction.

For my first layout, I follow the sketch precisely, this is the fastest and easiest way to make a scrapbook layout.

Here's the September sketch!

Gather my supplies....

I started my layout off by trimming down my white cardstock background and matting it on the Queen Bee patterned paper from the Wildflower and Honey collection.

I then matted my photos with the reverse side of the Happy Spirit patterned paper and added some machine stitching around the perimeter to give it some additional texture and interest.

Next, I added a strip of the Greenery patterned paper (reverse side) down the left hand side of the page and folded back the right hand corner of the white cardstock, so I can add a few layers of die cut pieces from the Ephemera pack.

Add my matted photos.

I used stickers, die-cuts and chipboard from the Wildflower and Honey collection to embellish my layout by simply grouping them into clusters.

Here's my second layout using the September sketch.

For this page I went in a totally different direction, by simply, using one photo and adding fussy cut flowers with a few embellishments in place of the patterned paper strip.

I used the beautiful coral watercolor patterned paper for my background and arranged the fussy cut flowers by keeping them mainly to the center of the page.

I love the stitching around the photos found on the sketch, so I recreate this by using a black pen to draw a frame around the outside of the photo!

Start embellishing....

Sketches are packed with tons of inspiration and there are many ways to interpret them, so go ahead, have some fun and remember to share your projects with us on FB at My Creative Scrapbook Inspiration Center

If you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

Step by Step with Monique!

Hello friends, it's Monique here today sharing one of the layouts I created with the My Creative Scrapbook September Main kit. This amazing kit is filled with lots of product from the Wildflower & Honey collection from Vicki Boutin and also some papers from her Field Notes collection.

Here's the layout I made:

When I started my page, I got out the entire kit:

but in the end I decided I didn't want to use the papers, but only the die-cuts, the stickers and the cardstock packaging from the die-cuts:

From the die-cuts I chose four of the tags, a frame and a few other bits and pieces:

I arranged the tags and the cardstock packaging on a white cardstock sheet:

Next came three more die-cuts: a frame, a journaling card with tab and another little card:

Behind the photo I adhered the "today" card and placed this over the frame and packaging:

With the addition of a flower, flag, circle and little bee die-cut my page looked like this:

Included in the kit are these sheets with chipboards. I totally adore these and chose a couple of them for my layout.

Except for adhesive chipboards there also some fun stickers in the kit and those came next, like this cute little owl:

Using an American Crafts precision pen 03 I drew a double line around the layout. Last but not least I added a few paint drops and some machine stitching.

Here are a few more close-ups of some of the details:

Thank you so much for visiting our blog! I hope I've been able to inspire you a little bit! Don't forget to show us what you make by sharing your project on our facebook page "My Creative Scrapbook Inspiration Central"!
