Grid Design with Yvette!

Merry Christmas, friends! Today I have a layout to share with you using the gorgeous December main kit. I went with a simple grid design, to document this cute photo of my son having fun playing in the snow.  

1. Gather my supplies...Patterned papers, Decorative die-cut, Square punch, Black ink pad, and the Prima clear stamp included in this months main kit. 

2. I stamped the Gothic Book clear stamp with black ink onto the 'Glad Tiding' paper.   

3. Used the square punch to cut them all out. 

4. Distressed the edges with some color ink pads and a distressing tool.

5. Adhered to the decorative die-cuts, which was cut from white cardstock. 

6. Arranged the squares onto the 'Joyous Noel' pattern paper and glue in place.     

7. Add my photo.

8.  Two large clusters of embellishment was added around the photo, one to the bottom right corner and the other in the top left corner.   

9. To complete my layout, I created a title using my Silhouette.

Country Christmas with Monique!

Hello My Creative Scrapbook fans! It's Monique here today with a layout I created with the December Main Kit featuring the Country Christmas collection from Simple Stories. The first thing I always look for in a kit are the die-cuts! Die-cuts are my favorite items in a collection and so I was very happy when I found lots of them in this month's kit!! To make the best use of the them I decided to create a large Christmas tree solely with die-cuts. I did however need a background for my tree and because the kit also contained a super cute text stamp from Prima I used that for my background!

Let me quickly show you what I made and how I did this. Here's my layout with the die-cut tree:

And here's how I created this:

I started with assembling everything I thought I would need:

Just look at all the die-cuts and some chipboards as well:

Using the text stamp from the kit I stamped the shape of a tree on the white carstock background,:

On top I painted with colored Gelato and also added a few drops of Color Shine from my stash:

Now I was ready to start adding the die-cuts: 

Starting at the bottom with the larger pieces I worked my way up:

The chipboards in the kit were so beautiful as well, so I needed a few of those in the tree as well, like the angel and the "Merry & Bright" piece:

Next came the photo on the left side of the tree:

With two rows of machine stitching my layout was done! Hope you like it! Here are a few more close-ups:

Autumn Days with Yvette!

Hello, My Creative Scrapbook fans!  Yvette here, and today I'm sharing a layout featuring the Autumn Days exclusive cut file designed by Ashley Horton.          

  

 I start by cutting the beautiful wreath cut file from white cardstock.

I chose the 'Seasons of Change' patterned paper, the reverse side, to back the wreath cut file and also as my background. 

I then used a pencil to trace along the inside of the wreath and removed the inside portion only, using a craft knife or you can also use a small detail scissor.     

It took me a little while to choose the pattern paper I wanted to use to back the wreath open with, I didn't want something that was too busy or colorful, I wanted to keep the focus on the beautiful wreath design. I end up using the 'Fabulous Fall' paper and simply arrange it, to my liking.  

Next, I added some backstitching down the center of the leaves, before gluing everything in place.

I used stickers, chipboards, Bits and Pieces from the 'Autumn Splendor' collection to embellish the layout by creating a couple of clusters to the inside and the outside of the wreath. 

I finish the page by adding some white gesso with my finger around the outside of the wreath, just to soften it a bit.

Mini Album with Marielle!

Hello and Happy Fall !!

I'm happy to share this video of the mini album I created with the November main kit.

I just love this Simple Stories collection !! The colors are amazing.

 Fall has always been my favorite season.

The mini album measures roughly 5"X 7".

This kit has so many beautiful embellishments . Lots of stickers, ephemera and chipboard pieces to choose from to create this project.

Tutorial with Marielle!

Hello blog fans !

You are going to LOVE the November main kit ! It's just so beautiful and full of amazing Fall themed products from Simple Stories, American Crafts Thickers and Creative Embellishment chipboards.

Here's a layout I created with this kit.

This is the gorgeous November main kit !

Step 1- Add a few sprays of Prima Color Bloom in Golden Walnut (from a previous kit) and a few splats of white paint to a 12"X 12" piece of white cardstock, let dry.

Step 2- Choose your favorite patterned papers from the Autumn Splendor collection to use on your layout. Adhere the chipboard triangle pieces to the patterned papers with glue.

Step 3- Trim out the triangle shapes.

Step 4- Add title to the left side of cardstock. I love using foam Thickers !

Step 5- Adhere triangle shapes with 3D foam.

Step 6- Add a few layers of papers ,cardstock and one of the 2" X 3" cards to frame your layout photo.

Step 7- Add photo and "Spiced up" chipboard sticker.

Step 8- Finish your layout by adding floral stickers and other embellishments.
